Successful development of large scale Jatropha groves requires the selection of trees with the highest seed yields and seeds with the highest oil yields.
These yields are affected by the density of the planting, quality of the soil, rain fall, pruning, weeding, fertilising and overall standard of husbandry.
Density of the planting depends on whether the method of picking is hand or mechanical.
In order to be more fully informed regarding all these criteria Viridas,in December 2007, commenced planting a trial Jatropha grove. |
